Bristol-Plymouth Practical Nurse Program
Bristol-Plymouth Regional Technical School offers two Practical Nurse Programs which are fully approved by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing. Graduation from the Practical Nurse Program qualifies the student to apply for the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurse (NCLEX-PN) to become a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
HOW TO APPLY
Full-Time Day Program: The full time day program is in session Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. This program begins every September and runs for forty weeks. Applicants can submit an application beginning October 1, 2010 for admission to the full time day program beginning in September 2011.
Part-Time Evening Program:The part time evening program is in session three evenings per week for eighty weeks over the course of 2 years- evening classes begin at 4 p.m. Applications are accepted every other year. Applicants can submit an application beginning October 1, 2010 for admission to the part time evening class beginning in September 2011 and concluding in June 2013.

PRE-ENTRANCE TESTING
All candidates must pass the TEAS test to be eliglble for consideration for admission to either program. The TEAS test will be given at Bristol Plymouth in November and December 2010. Dates to be determined. Pre-registration is required for all testing. Candidates will not be admitted without prior registration and payment of the testing fee.

Books and uniforms are additional.
Bristol-Plymouth does not participate in student federal financial aid programs (FASFA). A payment plan for tuition is available. Once accepted, a non-refundable deposit of $1,000.00 for in-district or $1,500.00 for out-of-district students is due.
Pre -Admission Requirements
1. Qualified in-district candidates will be given preference. In-district communities include: Berkley, Bridgewater, Middleboro, Raynham, and Taunton.
2. A completed application form with non refundable application fee. Applications are valid for two enrollment cycles.
3. Candidate must be a high school graduate or process a valid GED. Foreign diplomas must be translated into English and a certified equivalency to U.S. education is required. An offical proof of graduation is required for admission.
4. Pre-entrance testing — all candidates must successfully pass the TEAS assessment test.
5. Interview with coordinator and/or faculty member of Admissions Committee.
6. Official High School Transcript. Consideration is given to students who have pursued courses of study with a concentration in the Sciences, Social Studies, Math, and English. An average of C or better in high school is preferred with consideration for trends demonstrating improvement and motivation.
7. Three references, at least one of which concerns former or present employment if possible.
Once accepted, students must also:
• Have a satisfactory CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information). All clinical facilities reserve the right to conduct an
additional CORI of practical nurse students.
• DPH Required Immunizations (3 doses Hepatitis B, TD booster within last 10 years, 2 doses measles, one does
mumps, one dose rubella)
• Seasonal influenza may also be required.
• Physical Examination within one year of beginning the program
• Obtain CPR Certification for Health Professionals
Selection of candidates for Admission is based on the following criteria:
1. Age requirements will comply with the regulations of Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination.
2. Consideration will be given to any previous course of study. Preference for the sciences, social sciences, english, and math abilities.
3. Average grade of C or better in high school is preferred with consideration for trends demonstration imprivement and motivation.
