Perhaps you gravitate to the kitchen at home to cook, bake, or choose a new recipe. Maybe you simply enjoy meeting the public and want to find out more about restaurant careers. Culinary Arts students learn to prepare, cook, bake and serve a variety of foods. They sharpen their skills in two school-operated facilities that are open to the public.

Facilities
Large commercial kitchen and bakery, public restaurant (The Silver Platter), bakery sales area, and fast food shop. Opportunities to prepare food for actual customers. Through the Cooperative Education Program seniors work in area restaurants where they gain additional expertise.

Start with a dependable person with physical stamina, an interest in food and a willingness to pursue a career that demands evening and weekend hours. Add the ability to take direction and the spirit of cooperation to produce a skilled and motivated Culinary Arts graduate.

Food service is one of the largest industries today, with opportunities worldwide. Possessing good entry level skills, our students can choose to go directly to work or seek further education. Some graduates receive college credit through the Tech Prep program
