Electrical Technology

Electricity is everywhere! Without the skills of licensed electricians, homes and offices would be without lights, computers, appliances, televisions and more. In the Electrical Technology Program, students study industrial, commercial and residential wiring and learn how to install, repair and maintain systems that give us heat, light, power and communications.

Equipment use
Programmable controls
National Electrical Code
Fire and alarm systems
Single phase and three-phase service
Residential, commercial and industrial wiring

Facilities

Large shop with work stations offering authentic wiring applications. Students also work on construction projects within the school and off-site. Seniors glean job-specific skills through the Cooperative Education Program. Prospective employers speak at school about job opportunities.

Recipe for Success

Mix together a good attitude, good attendance and a desire to learn electrical wiring skills, then add in manual dexterity and physical stamina to create the conditions for high achievement.

Career Highlights

B-P's future electricians get a head start on licensing criteria, since students get credit for hundreds of hours of required work experience and classroom instruction.
